Lacerations, Cuts and Minor Surgery
Sarasota Medical Center is fully equipped to handle your laceration emergency.
When you come to our clinic, our first step will be to stop the bleeding. Then, we will often give medication to numb the area, clean the wound and then determine the best way to repair the cut. Minor cuts can often be closed with adhesive tapes or tissue glue, but if the cut is deep enough, stitches might be required.
We will ask when you had your last tetanus immunization. Usually, tetanus immunizations are given once every 10 years.

Allergy Shots
We provide allergy shots to our patients, which are injections received at regular intervals over a period of time to stop or reduce allergy attacks. Allergy shot treatments (also called immunotherapy) contain a very small amount of the allergen that causes your attacks, allowing your own immune system to build up a tolerance over time.
